As we ready ourselves for our big Taste of Soup Fundraiser today from 11am-1pm, I had an announcement that needed to go out.

We wish to provide as many services to Coffeyville and surrounding areas as we can, with that in mind, the library has subscribed to several digital resources that I know you will love to hear about.

The first two resources are Ancestry.com and Newspapers.com. We have volunteers that come to the library every Tuesday afternoon to help patrons with Genealogy research and these databases will be a valuable asset. Patrons may come to the library and use the databases in the Genealogy room.

I am excited about these next two resources. First is Libby, Libby is an app that you can download to your phone, tablet, or smart device. Patrons can access Libby through a web browser as well at https://sunflowerelibrary.overdrive.com/. Libby has a vast library of eBooks and audiobooks available to anyone that has a Coffeyville library card. Patrons may checkout up to 5 books at a time and it’s easy to get signed up. Just download the app, find Coffeyville Public Library in the list, and input your library card number and pin (your pin is the last 4-digits).

The last (but certainly not least) resource is Kanopy. Kanopy is a free (to our patrons) movie-streaming app that you can download to your Roku or Smart TV. The signup is the same as the Libby app. Download the app (or go to kanopy.com), find Coffeyville Public Library, and input your library card number and pin. Patrons can stream up to 5 movies a month and Kanopy hosts a wide variety of movies, TV shows, kids’ programming, and more.

Have a blessed day,

Rachel Koszalka, Library Director
